Do's and Dont's

DO'S

  • Pursue excellence.
  • Be responsible. Be responsible.  Be responsible.
  • Be professional at all times, every minute.
  • Be properly rested so you can do your best each day.
  • Be prompt each morning.  In fact, be early.  Remember that, “Early is on time.  On time is late.”
  • Know and observe office policies at all times.
  • Be professionally attired no matter how others may be dressed.
  • Be respectful of your fellow workers.
  • Refer to everyone as "Mr." or "Ms." Unless someone insists you call them by their first name.
  • Learn the names of your co-workers and personnel and greet them when you meet them during the work day.
  • Say "Yes Sir" and "Yes Ma'am" instead of "Okay" or "Uh huh."
  • When you are in need of work tell your supervisor and also let others know you are available for additional projects.
  • Be enthusiastic about each project, no matter how boring or exciting.
  • Determine from your supervisor what is acceptable for you to do if there are times when you don't have a work assignment.
  • Ask questions if a project is not clear.
  • Double check your work.
  • Take pride in your work.
  • If you are going to be late, call and let your supervisor (mentor) know.  Speak to someone live - - do not only leave a voice mail.
  • If you are going to miss a day from an illness or family emergency, call and let your supervisor, mentor and Denisha Wise (404) 537-4932 know.
  • Have a goal of having your office rely upon you; honor their trust.
  • If invited to a Firm/Office event, do your best to attend.
  • Thank members of your firm/office who extend acts of kindness to you.  Do so by written note.
  • Turn your cell phone off when you get to work each day and put it away.  There is no reason to have your phone out.
  • Remember that “Everything Matters!”
  • Enjoy your experience.
